I talked to my sister this morning. She reads these ramblings faithfully. I mentioned that today is my last teaching day (of the year) so there would be no more difficult Fridays. She laughed – then pointed out that my grumpiness showed on every weekend post. Apparently Friday and Saturday posts are harsher than Tuesday posts.

Hmmm. I hadn’t considered that it might sound grumpy – depressing, probably – but mostly just an honest account of my profession. Like any other, there are highs and lows. And there’s nothing more annoying than someone who is over-the-top happy all the time. Like nothing ever bothers them.

So – thank you to those who have sympathized along the way. It was not my intent to solicit sympathy, but it kept me going. And now – 13 minutes and counting until my last Friday begins.
