We watched Up last night – that wonderful animated movie from 2009 (don’t know how I missed this until this point) about adventure, love, and aging. The girls and I were bawling our eyes out in the first 10 minutes – then laughing – then crying again – and so on and so on. It was marvelous.
It reminded me of the delightfully touching video by a Pink Martini fan (winner of a video contest) of one of their songs, Splendor in the Grass. This song about slowing down, listening to the grass grow, and lasting love is complete with the opening sweeping theme from Tchaikovsky’s 1st Piano Concerto. In the spirit of Up, here it is.
