Joey DeFrancesco is the greatest jazz organist on the planet, according to his website. And I don’t doubt it – though that seems to be something that someone else should be saying about him. Nevertheless, he is credited with almost single-handedly bringing the Hammond organ back into fashion. This shows why. And it shows he loves what he’s doing.
Take note of the bass line – he’s playing it on the pedals with his feet, while comping with the left hand and soloing with the right hand.
